May 2026 is Child Care Month in B.C., with Child Care Provider Appreciation Day on Friday, May 8. This month recognizes the essential role child care professionals play in supporting children, families, and communities. Their dedication and expertise create safe, nurturing environments where children can learn and thrive, with lasting impacts on early learning and family well-being across the province. Minister Beare’s statement for Child Care Month is available to read, and the ministry looks forward to engaging with families and child care professionals throughout May on the future of child care in B.C.
