Hello,
As we approach the winter season with more windstorms and snow, here is a friendly reminder about our School District's Inclement Weather and School Closure Policy (Policy 807).
Schools Will Remain OPEN unless extreme conditions, like significant damage or lack of heat, make it unsafe.
Adjusted Learning Expectations: Schools will accommodate students impacted by the weather, ensuring support for those in attendance and those who cannot attend.
Bus Service: Weather may impact bus routes. We aim to communicate early in the morning, or even the night before, if possible, when buses are unable to operate.
Parent/Guardian Discretion: We recognize the right of parents/guardians to use their discretion in deciding whether it is safe for their child to attend school during inclement weather. If you determine that it’s unsafe for your child to attend school, please notify the school office as early as possible.
In Case of Closure: If a closure is necessary, we’ll do our best to inform everyone by 7:00 am through:
- Email from your school principal
- School District website
- School News App
- Social media feeds
- Individual school websites
The local radio station Mountain FM will also share alerts on air and on social media.
If no closure announcement is made, schools will be open to receive students.
While the school day may look a bit different under extreme conditions, we’re committed to making it a great learning experience for all!
Thank you and stay safe this season.
