PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear St’a7mes families,

I hope everyone is continuing to enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been having! It’s been a delight to see our students and staff making the most of the sunshine and the start of some crisp air.

We are busy preparing for our Reconciliation Day event, which will take place on Thursday, September 26th. Details and invites will follow. Students and staff will continue on their learning journey as we focus on the Truth in Truth and Reconciliation.

We were incredibly fortunate to have Auntie Cindy visit us recently. She spent time with our Learning Expeditions students, guiding them in collecting river stones and sharing her profound knowledge about the significance of these stones and their connection to the ancestors. Each student in our school will have the chance to use a river stone as a meaningful expression of how we can all strive to be good living ancestors. This activity draws inspiration from the work of Leona and Gabriel Prince, particularly their message in "Be a Good Ancestor."

In addition, I’d like to remind you of our Back to School BBQ on Monday, September 17th, at 4pm. This will be a great chance to connect with other families as well as school staff. The evening will continue with our PAC meeting at 6pm, where we’ll discuss important topics and future plans for our school community.

Lastly, we value your input and encourage you to participate in our survey on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Your feedback is crucial as we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. You can access the survey through this link

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We look forward to seeing you at the BBQ and PAC meeting!

Take care,

Cory Hartling

Principal
